Professor Ahmed Abd El Hamid is the Professor of Prosthodontics and dental Implantology and former head of prosthodontic department, Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University, Egypt from 2011 until 2016. He obtained a Master and PHD degree of prosthodontics and dental implantology from Alexandria University, Egypt in 1987. He was working at King Abdelaziz University, Saudia Arabia from 1990 to 1993, visiting Professor at Beirut Arab University, Lebanon, Benghazi University, and Eltahady University, Libya, 2002 until 2013.

Professor Abd El Hamid is also a member of the Promotion Committee of Prosthodontics for Professors and Associate Professors from 2013 for three rounds.  Supervised and assessed many Master and PHD theses at many dental schools in Egypt and the Middle East. Published many articles at international and national journals. He is a member of many societies like Alexandria Dental Association. He is a speaker at many dental congresses, national as well as international in The United States, Korea, AEEDC, Dubai, Lebanon, Saudia Arabia, and Yemen. Member of the American Academy of Temporomandibular Disorders.

Published about thirty national and international articles.
