Prof. Mario Romandini is a clinician, academician, and researcher with internationally recognized expertise in periodontology and implant dentistry.

He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Periodontal Research and most recently served as Full Professor in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China). Previously, he was Associate Professor and EFP-accredited Program Co-Director at the University of Oslo.

He serves on the Editorial Board of Clinical Oral Implants Research has authored over 90 peer-reviewed publications in leading international journals.

Prof. Romandini is a Fellow and Board of Mentor of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), a member of the Congress Committee of the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO), and an Active Member of the Italian Society of Periodontology (SIdP).

His research activity has been supported by multiple competitive grants from major international institutions, including ITI, Osteology Foundation, Eklund Foundation, and SEPA Foundation. He has received several clinical and research awards in recognition of his contributions to implant dentistry, including the 2023 IAO Brånemark Prize for Clinical Excellence.
