Caring for the oral health needs of some individuals with special health care needs may involve or even require a hospital setting. This case series will discuss some of the hospital based pediatric dental care rendered at Mayo Clinic. It will also discuss aspects of starting up a hospital-based practice. The objectives of this lecture will be to:
– Describe populations who would benefit from hospital-based oral health care
– Examine different scenarios using a case-based methodology
– Propose how to start and organize a hospital-based clinic
