A Pediatric dentist often deals with developing malocclusions that need to be intercepted at appropriate time. Mixed dentition age is very responsive for such treatment. Model analysis is incomplete without knowing its applications in regular clinic practice. The lecture is aimed to ignite the thought process of budding pediatric dentists and looking beyond the conventional approach of interceptive treatment. Discrepancies in incisor and buccal space together with an overall amount of Tooth Size Arch Length Discrepancy (TSALD) calculated with model and/or cephalometric analysis are helpful in laying down interceptive orthodontic treatment plans. The lecture will help attendees to evaluate a child patient from an orthodontic point of view demonstrated with the help of some treated cases.
