The paradigm of engineering our body parts has been coined more than three decades ago. Today, with all of the hypes and hopes about tooth regeneration, we are still learning the ropes of tooth development for the ultimate goal
of recapitulating its events to eventually treat our patients with synthesized enamel instead of porcelain, regenerated
dentin instead of composites, a vital pulp instead of gutta percha and a whole new tooth instead of a dental implant.
This lecture will discuss the intricacies of tooth development, the challenges of its regeneration and the according duties of a dental practitioner to appreciate natural tooth structure, treasure prevention, and think one more time
before touching a tooth with a handpiece.
